Batch #1 is a bold introduction. It is a vibrant green with a slight warm, yellow undertone – a natural characteristic of the late autumn harvest, where the leaves are more mature than in spring.
It dissolves effortlessly in water. Upon whisking, it creates a dense, stable layer of microfoam. The plain matcha, after dissolved in water, produced a vibrant emerald green.
Expect a robust personality. Batch #1 is sharp, grassy, and distinctively bold. It carries a slight bitterness that hits the palate first, followed immediately by a clean, sweet aftertaste.
Tips
Premium Matcha
Because of its bold profile, Batch #1 is perfect for working with milk or milk alternatives.
Lattes: The sharpness cuts perfectly through creamy oat or dairy milk, ensuring the matcha flavor isn’t lost.
It doesn’t get “drowned out” like more delicate spring blends.
Creative Drinks: Perfect for matcha lemonades or tonics where you need a strong matcha flavour.
Baking: Excellent for cookies and cakes due to its vibrant color and honest matcha taste that survives the oven.
Straight Matcha: If drinking it straight, we recommend using cooler water
(approximately 70°C) to mellow the bitterness.

I’ve tried a lot of matcha brands but MAS CHA is something else. The colour is incredibly vibrant and the taste is smooth with a natural sweetness, no bitterness at all. It froths up beautifully in lattes and you can tell the quality is there from the first sip. Batch #1 has been my favourite discovery this year and I’m already looking forward to Batch #2. Highly recommend to anyone serious about their matcha! ☕
