Batch #1 is a bold introduction. It is a vibrant green with a slight warm, yellow undertone – a natural characteristic of the late autumn harvest, where the leaves are more mature than in spring.
It dissolves effortlessly in water. Upon whisking, it creates a dense, stable layer of microfoam. The plain matcha, after dissolved in water, produced a vibrant emerald green.
Expect a robust personality. Batch #1 is sharp, grassy, and distinctively bold. It carries a slight bitterness that hits the palate first, followed immediately by a clean, sweet aftertaste.

Batch #2 is wonderfully versatile and shines in almost every preparation.
Straight Matcha: This is where Batch #2 truly excels. Whisked with water, it reveals layers of sweetness, umami, and delicate freshness that make it a pleasure to drink on its own.
Lattes: The sweetness carries beautifully through dairy and plant-based milks, creating a balanced latte that remains distinctly matcha-forward without becoming overpowering.
Creative Drinks: Perfect for strawberry matcha, iced matcha lemonades, tonics, and seasonal specials where its bright colour and clean flavour can shine.
Desserts & Baking: Excellent for ice cream, cheesecakes, cookies, and cakes. Its vibrant green colour and smooth flavour profile elevate both appearance and taste.
For us, Batch #2 represents the everyday matcha we reach for ourselves. Sweet, balanced, brilliantly green, and endlessly enjoyable. Some brands would call this their premium ceremonial matcha and charge accordingly. We simply call it Batch #2.

I’ve tried a lot of matcha brands but MAS CHA is something else. The colour is incredibly vibrant and the taste is smooth with a natural sweetness, no bitterness at all. It froths up beautifully in lattes and you can tell the quality is there from the first sip. Batch #1 has been my favourite discovery this year and I’m already looking forward to Batch #2. Highly recommend to anyone serious about their matcha! ☕
