MAS CHA Batch #1 vs #2: Two Harvests, Two Experiences
Why Every Harvest Tastes Different
At MAS CHA, we don’t chase consistency for the sake of it. Nature doesn’t work that way and neither do we.
Just like wine, matcha is shaped by its season. The time of year a leaf is picked changes everything — the colour, the sweetness, the weight on the palate. That’s not a flaw. That’s the whole point.
Batch #1 and Batch #2 come from the same farm in Guizhou, China. Same dedication, same stone-grinding process, same honest sourcing. But they taste different. Here’s why.
Why Harvest Season Changes Everything
Most matcha brands don’t talk about harvest seasons. That’s because most matcha brands don’t want you asking too many questions.
Here’s the truth. Tea leaves picked in spring are younger, more tender, and have spent the winter storing nutrients. They produce a naturally sweeter, more delicate flavour with less bitterness. Spring harvests are often considered the most prized for this reason.
Autumn leaves are older and more exposed to the elements. They develop a bolder, more robust character — deeper in colour, stronger in flavour, with a grassy sharpness that cuts beautifully through milk. Neither is better. They are simply different expressions of the same plant, shaped by the season it grew in.
At MAS CHA, we believe you deserve to know exactly what you are drinking and why it tastes the way it does.
Batch #1 — Autumn Harvest 2025
Harvest: Late Autumn 2025
Origin: Guizhou, China
Character: Bold, grassy, robust
Batch #1 is a statement. Autumn leaves are more mature, which means a deeper colour with a warm yellow undertone and a flavour that doesn’t hold back. Sharp and grassy upfront, with a clean sweet finish that lingers.
It froths beautifully, cuts through milk effortlessly and holds its own in lattes, bakes and creative drinks. If you want matcha that you can actually taste — this is it.
Best for: Lattes, matcha lemonades, baking, anyone who wants bold matcha flavour.
Batch #2 — Spring Harvest 2026
Harvest: Spring 2026
Origin: Guizhou, China
Character: Sweet, light, delicate
Spring leaves are younger and more tender. Less exposure to harsh conditions means less bitterness and more natural sweetness. Batch #2 is noticeably lighter in character — a brighter green, a gentler taste, and a smoothness that makes it incredibly easy to drink.
If Batch #1 is bold coffee, Batch #2 is a smooth flat white. Same quality, completely different mood.
Best for: Drinking straight, lighter lattes, anyone new to matcha or sensitive to bitterness.

Why Guizhou Matcha is Different
Both batches come from Guizhou, a province in southwest China with a long and largely untold history of exceptional tea cultivation.
Guizhou sits at high altitude with a cool, misty climate and mineral-rich soil — conditions that slow the growth of the tea plant and concentrate its flavour and nutrients naturally. This is not mass-produced tea. This is small-batch, carefully tended, stone-ground matcha from people who have been doing this for generations.
The West has been slow to recognise Guizhou matcha. That’s changing. And we are proud to be part of that conversation.
Which One is For You?
Both are the same obsessive quality. Same farm, same care, same honest price.
If you want something bold that works hard in a latte — Batch #1 is still available, but nearly gone.
If you want something naturally sweet and gentle — Batch #2 is here.
Can’t decide? Try both while Batch #1 still lasts. Two harvests, two completely different experiences — that’s the whole point of what we do.
Our Promise
Regardless of the batch, MAS CHA matcha always comes from the youngest leaves at the tip of the tea trees. No dust, no fillers, no fake grade labels. Just honest tea from people who genuinely care.
